Marmee: New Kit For Mother's Day

Growing up, Mother's Day was always a special occasion where my mother's family gathered at Grandma Hopkins' house for a big meal and an afternoon of fellowship. We made a lot of happy memories on those days. Now I'm a Mom and I live 850 miles away from family and I miss those times.  Marmee was created to document the special mother's day gatherings or other occasions that honor your Moms, Grandmas, Aunts or other special ladies.  Naturally I love vintage and heritage styles, but I also wanted this to be a touch modern too so that it would adapt well to current photos as well as those from the past.  And since I love doing Project Life, I've included some 3x4 and 4x6 journaling cards as well. Of course I didn't leave my heritage roots. There are 2 pedigree charts - one is four generation and the other five - just in case you want to add a little genealogy to your family photos. Here is the description from the store listing:

Marmee is a digital scrapbook kit designed to honor our Moms and Grandmothers whether we call them Marmee or "just plain 'ol Mom". Bright spring and summer colors are perfect for scrapbooking your photos of Mother's Day or other events honoring the ladies in your life.  Included are 18 gold titles and two pieces of word art about mothers, as well as two gold pedigree charts if you want to include a little family history. The 3x4 and 4x6 journal cards are perfect for those doing pocket scrapbooking projects as well as for getting all the details down about your matriarch. Elements included have a garden and bird theme.  Happy scrapbooking! Thank you for looking.

Snow

Well, with all those Christmas kits and layouts, I needed a break from the traditional red and green, so I tried out my Winter Wonderland Collaborative kit from Faith Sisters. Since purple is my favorite color, this was a fun break. I love all the snow papers out there right now, but unfortunately have very few snow pictures to scrap. Where I live it hasn't snowed since the 40s!
I used a button from Gretchen Tripp's contribution, a frame from Eressea Design and most of Paula Phillips' contribution to the collaborative. The font is CK Windsong (Creating Keepsakes).

Happy Birthaversary Mom!

Well, I've been working hard to get this blog up and running in time to post this as a "birthaversary surprise" for my Mom who celebrates her birthday and her anniversary on December 12th. I missed it by 14 minutes! But I love you Mom! I love you Jack! And I wish you many more happy years together! I had fun creating this page from Teri Hanson's beautiful A Winter's Day kit. The letters are from the Christmas Pearl Alpha Pack Plus.

Sugar Plum Lane Kits at Heritage Scrap

Heritage Scrap has some lovely kits in their December designer Sugar Plum Lane collaborative

The background papers come from Teri Hanson's kit and the frame from Jean Daugherty's kit. The lovely ribbons and poinsettia flowers come from Silvia Romeo's kit.

This is again with cream paper and ribbons from Silvia Romeo's kit and the frame and green background paper is from Jean Daugherty's kit. The cute little girl is my Mommy! :o)
